Go on an epic bike ride!
Everyone loves a good old bike ride, but taking the whole family and making a day of it is a great way to turn the average bike ride into a cycling adventure! Choosing the right location, planning ahead and setting the right goals, can really help to create a day your family will always remember.
So how do you get started? The first task is to figure out where to go biking. There are thousands of bike paths specifically laid out all over Canada. Check with Trans Canada Trail to find the best route close to you. Plan out what part of the trail you will set out to do, and where you will be leaving your vehicle if need be.
Be sure to plan ahead! Think about how long you will be on the trail and pack the appropriate necessities for the day. Include enough water, light food and snacks for the stops that you will make along the way. Investigate your trail and see how much of it will be spent in the bush versus in the sun. Make sure you pack your Halsa Forest Spray to make the ride through the trees a more pleasant one!
Set attainable goals that suite the skill level of everyone in the family. Only take on as much of the trail as can be handled by everyone in your party. This will help to make sure that the day stays fun and exciting for each member. Keep in mind that if there is more of the trail you want to see, it can always be saved for another day!
